These states, as targeted, legalize wild cats as "pets". This is what gets people excited. What an interesting experience to own a wild cat! But people really don't know how awful it is for the cat. Wild cats need lots of space and must live on ground, not floor. The owners of these wild cats don't have any experience with them! That's why when wild cats live like this, they die much earlier due to inproper care.
What is also legal is to "show off" your wild cat. Many owners tie the cats up in cages and force them to be pet by strangers, picked up, bothered, cuddled, etc. This happens usually to baby tigers. They pick up the tigers under their arms and carry them about. Does this sound like proper care? These wild cats need freedom, they need space! These people are putting a signifigant amount of stress on these animals and are lessening their life span.
Plus, the people who "show off" their cats in cages ask for money to pet the cat. The money, it goes to themselves. Even if the owners don't show off their cats, the cats are still living in bad places and are given bad food- not a comfortable lifestyle. So that's why there's no reason to own these wild cats and owning them SHOULD be band in every state.
Dear Cat Lovers,
I made a petition to ban the ownership of wild cats in EVERY state in America. There are only 16 states that ban the ownership of wild cats and if you sign this petition we can make it all 51 states. When these wild cats are cared for by people with pretty much no experience and left in houses or backyards with bad food and just bad care overall these animal's lives shorten. It's all because people seek the opportunity to own these beautiful species and "show them off". That's why it's only necessary to ban the ownership of wild cats in ALL states.
So for all the animal lovers out there, sign this petition. These wild cats are endangered all ready and we don't want to make things worse for them.
