I live in a gated community which boasts a natural woodland setting, where deer, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, etc., freely roam. Based on what they felt was too many deer (264 per square mile), our board of directors had recently decided to hold a deer cull, whereby they were going to hire USDA sharpshooters to come into our community and kill the does. This proposal was stopped by member vote, but ultimately, members tried to get our by laws changed so that our board of directors would be required to get member vote in advance of a deer cull. This change to our by laws was not passed, and now I fear that efforts to begin a deer cull will start again.
