Allow all babies and children their OWN graves, free of charge (U.K)

In some areas in the UK, if you lose your child and cannot afford to pay hundreds of pounds for a separate burial, your child will be buried in a mass grave. Please sign this petition now to tell local authorities that grieving families should be provided with individual graves for their lost babies and children, irrespective of the families' ability to pay or where they live.

Losing a child is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a family. Burying your child is something that needs to be attended to with dignity and respect to allow the grieving family some comfort in their loss.

I was appalled recently when I was told by a grieving parent that their child would be buried in a mass grave and, if they wanted their child to have their own grave then they would have to pay several hundred pounds. This does not happen in all local authorities in the UK, it shouldn't happen at all. There would be uproar If you were to be told your elderly relative was going to buried in a mass grave.

Everyone will know of someone who has lost a child by one way or another, you may have lost a child yourself and you will how devastating this can be. Please join me and add your signature to this petition to cause change in the UK so that ALL babies and children are given the dignity and respect they deserve.

All babies and children should be given their own grave. Mass graves remind us of recent and past history, following atrocities, where people are buried in mass graves for convenience and where little care is given. A family should be able to precisely identify the place where their child is buried rather than somewhere among other babies in a mass grave.

Adults have the opportunity to pay into insurance policies to help pay or offset the cost of a funeral, but you don't plan towards burying you child. That is why there should not be a cost for the actual grave site for a baby or child.
