We Demand the Right to see our Grandchildren!

My son had a child out of wedlock. He wasn’t informed prior to leaving the hospital that if there wasn’t a parenting plan in place he doesn’t have any parental rights to his child. My son’s a veteran with PTSD and struggles with addiction. His child’s mother refuses to take out an court order for child support because she doesn’t want him having anything to do with their son. I can agree that unless he’s clean and sober he doesn’t need to be around the child. But, she shouldn’t have the right to refuse myself his grandmother visitation with my grandson. Nor my child his aunt and uncle who love him dearly. NO GRANDPARENT SHOULD BE REFUSED THE RIGHT TO VISIT THEIR GRANDCHILDREN because one parent is angry with the other or they dislike the family of the other parent. We shouldn’t be punished for their actions! GRANDPARENTS DESERVE VISITATION RIGHTS WITH THEIR GRANDCHILDREN!!!! We don’t always have the money to hire an attorney and some states don’t recognize grandparents rights Tennessee is one of those states! That needs to change!
