Just recently, 4 men were charged with abusing the cows at the Weise Brown County Dairy Farm and it was all caught on tape. Please sign and share this petition in an effort to get the dairy farmers to investigate and choose farm hands that will guarantee good care of the animals.

Owners of the Weise Brown County Dairy Farm in Wisconsin made a poor choice in selecting farm hands to care for their cows. Four men that worked for the farm were actually caught on a video beating, kicking, stabbing and whipping sick and injured cows. After the video surfaced, farm owners said the operation near Greenleaf had taken additional steps to ensure proper treatment, including calling a supervisor to oversee care when an animal goes down and designating three workers as specialists to care for cows too sick or injured to stand.

These men, Aberlardo Jamis, 31, of Menasha, and Misael Monge-Minero, 33, of Green Bay, Lucia Martinez, 39, of Wrightstown, and Crescencio Pineda, 26, of Menasha have all been charged although they have not all plead guilty at this point. Bond for all four was set at $1,000 each, according to court documents. If convicted, each count carries a maximum penalty of nine months in jail and a $10,000 fine.

When it comes to hiring farmhands, dairy farmers like the owners of the Weise Brown County Farm must make certain that they do background checks and follow protocol that ensures the animals are well cared for and not in an abusive manner. What happened at this dairy farm is extremely unfortunate, putting their cows in poor hands. The animals are the ones that had to pay through animal abuse and cruelty. Please sign and share this petition in an effort to get the dairy farmers to investigate and choose farm hands that will guarantee good care of the animals.

Wisconsin Dept. of Agriculture – Weise Brown County Farm- There needs to be a protocol followed in choosing farmhands and helpers that are hired to work with animals on farms. Applicants should be investigated with background checks to ensure they are fit to handle and care for animals in a humane manner. The abuse of the cows at the Weise Brown County Farm was so unfortunate and should never have occurred. Such horrible practices could be avoided with more diligent and invasive hiring protocol that would keep animal abuser out!
