Save the Pallid Sturgeon!

One of Earth's last living dinosaurs is facing peril due to the upper Mississippi River dams that block them from their spawning grounds. Now, only 150 ageing pallid sturgeon exist in the wild. None of these have produced viable offspring.

The pallid sturgeon is an endangered species, and if the dams aren't modified or removed to allow access to their breeding grounds, they will go extinct in the wild. But instead of removing the dams, the Army Corps of Engineers plans to build an even bigger dam that would block other fish.

Don't let a dam kill off a species that has existed since the age of the dinosaurs! Sign the petition to urge the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Bureau of Reclamation remove the dam and save the pallid sturgeon!

I am concerned about the upper Mississippi River dams that block endangered pallid sturgeons from their spawning grounds. Now, only 150 ageing pallid sturgeon exist in the wild. None of these have produced viable offspring.

The pallid sturgeon is an endangered species, and if the dams aren't modified or removed to allow access to their breeding grounds, they will go extinct in the wild. I understand that your current plan is to build an even bigger dam that would block other fish.

Please don't let a dam kill off a species that has existed since the age of the dinosaurs. I respectfully urge you to remove the dam and save the pallid sturgeon. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this petition.
