STOP Sexual Abuse by Coaches in the Olympic System!!!

Rapists, pedophiles, and sexual predators are all over the place in Taekwondo, and many other sports with 1 on 1 training such as gymnastics, and swimming.

In Taekwondo - Some of the only coaches that the athletes are allowed to be coached by while on a national team for the USA are known rapists. The committee is not doing anything about this – even knowing the issues, and it needs to be stopped. 

Some of the head national team coaches that are also appointed to go to the Olympics rape the minor athletes while unsupervised in hotel rooms, on trips, whenever they can be alone. Many coaches in the taekwondo system use their power to rape, drug, and molest these girls - no matter the age.

I know because I was one of them. And I am not the only one. Many have come to me and told me their stories as well. My Olympic dreams were ruined because of sexual abuse. And even if I still could compete after being able to deal with my PTSD, I would be forced to be coached by rapists, like girls are today, right now, as we speak. This needs to stop.

The laws that need to be changed/added in a more stable and safe athlete protection program:

What you’ll be signing for:

-The coaches appointed for any team trip, including the Olympics, should be selected by the athlete(s) competing.
- A more thorough background check for the appointed coaches should be provided
- If a rumor is heard about ANY situation related in a registered school, it must be investigated by an independently appointed committee
- This committee should be appointed for all complaints of coaches to be received by any athletes or parents
- At least 1 family guardian should be provided accommodations for themselevs to travel with the tcompeting athlete
- On team trips - coaches must stay at SEPARATE hotels from the athletes.
- On team trips – parents/guardians should be allowed to room with the competing athlete
- There should be NO ability to keep parents/guardians away from ANY training camps, training camp sessions, seminars, group camps, team trips (including all training sessions) competitions, or any other taekwondo event
- There MUST be at least 2 NON sports related OR Medics attending all training sessions at all times
- At least 2 guardian/parents from separate families MUST be present at ANY team dinner to prevent alcohol consumption and date rape
- At least 2 guardian/parents from separate families MUST attend ANY event with interaction between coaches and athletes.
- At NO point should any athlete be forced to room at the Olympic Training Center or ANY other overnight stay accommodations where they/they’re parents/guardians feel uncomfortable and unsafe upon ANY circumstance.
- At NO point during a trip should a coach and an athlete interact without the supervision of a parent/guardian.

None of this is already in place, please help us fix this and save the lives, health, and future of these athletes.
