Demand Justice for Pet Dog Shot in the Head!

It’s a miracle that Maxie is alive. This 7-year-old boxer was shot through the head during a drive-by attack in Melbourne last month.

The dog’s owner Jamie MacGregor, caretaker of the estate where the shooting took place, reported that blood was spurting out of Maxie’s head in several places after the bullet entered near his eye, went through his head and exited near the jaw.

The owner of several dogs he sees as family members, MacGregor expressed concern and outrage that the attackers may have taken out a grudge against him on his beloved and peaceful pet.

Furthermore, he says, it’s not the first time animals in the area have been shot. Camels at a nearby estate were the targets of an earlier attack. And the fact that Australia has strict gun control laws makes these shootings even more troubling.

Reports say police are investigating and seeking information. Tell them to be sure that Maxie and his owner get justice for this senseless, cruel crime.

We, the undersigned, find this attack on a defenseless pet very disturbing, especially considering it was neither provoked nor the first animal shooting in the area.

As in Maxie’s case, animals are more than mere pets to many owners - they are members of families who feel their suffering intensely.

Not only should authorities be concerned about these drive-by animal shootings, but what looks like lax regulation of its gun laws.

We stand with MacGregor in his outrage over this attack and ask the Melbourne authorities to ensure this crime does not go unpunished.

Thanks for your time.

Not only should authorities be concerned about these drive-by animal shootings, but the apparent gun law violations involved.
