In the UK, over 815,000 were diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer's in 2013. So therefore 1 in EVERY 70 people in the uk, and 1 in every 14 people over the age of 65 will develop the disease.
If current trends continue, and no action is taken by 2051 there will be a 156% increase in cases in the uk alone.
Not only are elderly people affected by this, the disease can effect young people, those with learning disabilities and black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Dementia has six different types of forms, although they are a very severe.
OVER 36 million people worldwide have dementia... 28 million are not diagnosed!!
