I LOVE MARY MAGDALENE

Ever since I read the book ‘Da Vinci Code’ in my teenage years I have been fascinated by Mary Magdalene. To be honest I’d never even heard much about her other than the stories you would hear about Jesus’s friend Mary at Sunday school.

The Da Vinci story really gives Mary Magdalene some importance and the truth of that story I can’t honestly tell you. I do know one thing – her energy is REAL. Mary Magdalene has in the past been given a hard time by the Catholic church – she was acknowledged as a whore. It’s almost as if they’ve called her that because over the years people have speculated that Jesus may or may not have had a relationship with her. I suppose this caused some uproar in house – especially when Patriarchal men having relations was frowned upon or even more so that sexual relations were seen as ‘unholy’.

Although after years of making her out to be something she absolutely wasn’t – the Catholic church apologised and made her into a ‘Saint’ but still to this day many remember her as the ‘whore’ and ultimately it’s not the truth.

When you ask most people what they know about Mary Magdalene there’s a great chance that they’re going to turn around and say she was a prostitute. Rumours spread around that she was the lowest of the low in society – she was a complete sinner who was forgiven by the lord for her sins. She’s a powerful symbol of redemption for so many and as symbolic as it may seem someone literally got their stories mixed up - In fact Pope Gregory did. He made the assumption that Mary who washed the feet of Jesus with her hair was Mary Magdalene but it was in fact Mary the sister of Martha. Even so I can’t look at Mary (the sister of Martha) in a negative light, yes she was a prostitute but she was someone trying to survive in her time with the best knowledge she had at that time. We can only send her love.

A Guide to Forgiveness
Whenever I’ve thought of Mary Magdalene I’ve always felt forgiveness would be her role. Maybe it’s because her memory has been remembered in such a horrible way and deep down within me I know her soul exists without any grievances – existing in a space of eternal love.

Since my learning about her all those years ago I’ve always regarded her high on my spiritual prayers list. In fact I had her portrait tattooed onto my arm. She’s a youthful woman with large eyes veiled with a reversed triangle between her brows acknowledging the divine feminine. At her heart centre she holds a cup representing the Holy Grail and that woman are a vessel to life. Below the cup there is a rose representing unconditional love.

Right now I'm writing my 4th book 'The Wings of Forgiveness' and Mary Magdalene and 2 Angels she works with have become the guides to the way I have shared my forgiveness healing technique and process. Below you'll find 2 prayers that are from this book that I feel you will appreciate. Enjoy them!

The Invitation
Divine Soul, Mary Magdalene,
Thank you for unveiling your ruby light upon me now.
I welcome with open arms your guidance, support and protection as I undertake this sacred journey.

Thank you for igniting within the cave of my heart a flame of love,  a flame that will purify and cleanse, all thoughts, intentions and memories of fear, anger and anguish.

As the flame burns bright I return to love and remember my holiness.

Thank you for helping me see that I am spirit.
Thank you for helping me accept love and thank you for helping me perceive forgiveness as it is.
Welcome to my heart sweet Mary Magdalene. I allow this journey to unfold.
 And so it is.

Humanity
Within the Gnostic text 'The Gospel of Mary Magdalene' there is a powerful teaching from Jesus where he tells us that we are all the Child of Humanity. Whether you believe in his existence or not or even in this text it makes no difference because it’s words will resonate with your soul if you are ready to undertake the journey of forgiveness.

“Peace be with you! Bear my peace within yourselves! Beware that no one lead you astray saying, ‘Look over here!’ Or ‘Look over there!’ For the Child of Humanity is within you! Follow it! Those who seek it will find it. Go then and proclaim the good news of the realm. Do not lay down any rules beyond what I determined for you, nor give a law like a lawgiver, lest you be confined by it.” (Chapter 4 verses 2-10)

This message had me so excited because Jesus is teaching us not to let anyone or anything distract us from our goodness. He’s encouraging us to stay peaceful and not to let anyone insult us or distract us from our own inner divinity. He’s telling us that the Child of Humanity is within us. What he’s meaning is the truth of who you are is gentle and kind because humanity’s definition is: benevolence. He encourages us to tell people of their goodness and to share our goodness with all those around us (the realm) before reminding us not to be restricted by made up rules or laws that get in the way of our growth. This is so important because if we followed this guidance maybe forgiveness wouldn’t even be an issue? I’ll leave you to meditate on that.

The Beloved
I stand here now stripped naked and prepared for i am ready to know forgiveness
I am willing to share forgiveness and I am living within the wings of forgiveness
In complete humility I am exposed sharing my realness with the world
For I have now accepted the love that is entitled to me.

I am the Child of Humanity, an expression of light, the echo of God's love.
By remembering my identity and accepting it now I draw choirs of angels close.

Holy Angels and Archangels surround me now - they have prepared the way.
In complete trust I take their lead for today I am honoured and loved.
I am the beloved.
