Please reinstate the Enlaces! Coordinator: Dr. Eloiza Alcaraz

We, the undersigned, ask that Dr. Eloiza Alcaraz be reinstated as the ¡Enlaces! Program Coordinator of the Counseling Psychology graduate program at Mount Saint Mary's University - Doheny campus.

We only recently received an e-mail informing us of Dr. Alcaraz's resignation effective August 19, 2016.

We, as ¡Enlaces! students are concerned about the future of the program, and our individual futures, without its important leader and founder of it current ¡Enlaces! curriculum being offered.

In the time we have acquainted with Dr. Alcaraz we have come to value her as a mentor and invaluable to our successes at Mount Saint Mary's University. She was an integral part of our enrollment in the ¡Enlaces! program and we felt reassured that she would serve as a strong leader to our endeavors. Not only is Dr. Alcaraz the only psychologist teaching traditional Latino folklore in a clinical cultural framework from the west of the Mississippi, she is nationally recognized as a distinguished psychologist. Having discussed these issues with fellow ¡Enlaces! students we have learned of many students' willingness to drop out of Mount Saint Mary's University altogether. Certainly it is attributable to feelings of disillusionment at certain promises and guarantees not being fulfilled by this program. As you can see from the link above, we were promised to enroll in a nationally recognized graduate program under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Alcaraz.

The transparency of the Graduate Psychology department at this university has been sorely compromised by the absence of Dr. Alcaraz.

We call for the immediate reinstatement of Dr. Eloiza Alcaraz as the rightful leader of the ¡Enlaces! program, whom would help to fulfill our educational goals at Mount Saint Mary's University.
