Don't Let Billionaire Build a Polar Bear Tourist Attraction!

Norwegian billionaire real estate magnate Olav Thon is planning to build a for-profit polar bear center in his native Hallingdal. Last year, Thon covered the losses for an existing bear park in Norway, and animal activists fear that this investment will convince local authorities to approve plans for the new polar bear park.

According to Siri Martinsen, a veterinarian who leads animal rights group NOAH, wild polar bears cover a hunting ground of 50,000 square kilometers and are documented to experience more problems than most other animals in captivity. A restrictive bear park ignores their needs for a widespread hunting area.

Please sign the petition to urge Hallingdal's authorities to put the health of animals over profit and reject Thon's plans to build a polar bear tourist attraction!
