Demand Sheffield council open an unused building at night for homeless people

A plan to open an unused building as a night shelter for homeless people was recently rejected by an overwhelming majority of Sheffield councillors. Labour, Lib Dem and Green representatives all voted against the idea. Please sign my petition, and call upon our elected officials to provide Sheffield's homeless population with this warm dry space to sleep.

It was claimed at the meeting that there are only six homeless people in Sheffield. This differs wildly from officials statistics which put the figure of homeless people in the hundreds. Myself and my good friend Matt go out on the streets of Sheffield weekly to provide hot drinks, food, clothing, tents and most of all support for these people suffering day in day out on the streets, and I can personally tell you that the numbers are so much higher than six.

No one deserves to live a life like this, without support from their community or society. With your help we can try and make a change and ask for our elected councillors to listen to the concerns of the public. We need at least 1,500 signatures to be able to challenge the decision, so please sign my petition and show your support for homeless people in Sheffield.

After recent visits to sheffield I have come across at least 4 of the people I help to be covered in cuts and bruises the because they have been violently attacked whist trying to sleep.

We really need to help put a stop to the abuse and homelessness these guys suffer on a daily basis.

Please could we sign and share and together we could make a massive change to help the more vulnerable and less fortunate Thanks Kelly License
