Demand to stop the overdevelopment of open spaces, forests, farms, and countryside in Maryland

Because of the overdevelopment that is occurring at an increasingly high rate in the state of Maryland, the wildlife have few places to go.  Wildlife are being killed daily on highways and roads because of this overdevelopment.  Demand the stop of the overdevelopment of land in Maryland.

This suburban sprawl is disturbing and has serious consequences on our environment.  All living things are part of a complex, delicately balanced network and by overdevelopment, humankind are destroying this.

Everywhere one looks, especially in rural areas, another strip mall or mega mall is being built, another frivolous restaurant, housing developments with McMansions (for a family of four!) or more super Walmarts.  This is such a waste of our forests, farmlands and countryside and is having a negative effect on our environment, wildlife habitats and ecosystems.  We need to rethink what we are doing to our environment and perhaps consider more ecological compatible solutions such as green homes, solar energy, increase in farmer's markets, etc.

This excessive over consumption is not only depleting our natural resources, destroying our wildlife and ecosystems, but also increasing pollution, noise, congestion, traffic gridlock and creating an ugly landscape.  Not only do humans suffer the consequences, but also the environment and wildlife that share it.

Please sign this petition to help preserve our natural wildlife habitats, ecosystems and environment in the state of Maryland.  Don't allow Maryland to slowly be paved over and become an ugly wasteland.  Thank you!
