NO To Killing Feral Pigs B.C. Minister of Forests!

  • by: Dallas E.

Enough is enough!  The annual Grizzly Bear trophy hunt has started again in British Columbia despite public outcry, because of Steve Thomson.  Now he has declared open season for hunters with guns to shoot feral pigs!  Then he admits that 'there are not many feral pigs', but they spread lice to domestic pigs.  What is wrong with this picture?  Is there no end to killing wildlife?  I am disgusted to be a Canadian with this irresponsible, cruel and ignorant government official who does nothing but promote senseless and cruel violence to animals.

Can you please help to send a clear message to B.C. Minister of Forests Steve Thomson this is totally cruel and unnecessary?  Thank you so much for your support.  Here is his email: FLNR.Minister@gov.bc.ca

Dear Honourable Mr. Steve Thomson, Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations of B.C.:

This petition opposing your decision to allow 'open season' on feral pigs in B.C. was started just over a mere month ago, collecting outrage and 62,298 signatures.  I urge you to read some of the comments opposing this uncalled for decision.  I would think your job would be to protect and preserve all wildlife for future generations and for the health of the ecology, not to use your power to play God with innocent creatures undeserving of your cruelty.  I also see that this is your way of thinking with the highly unpopular Grizzly Bear Hunt, and when people know that animals and wildlife are treated badly, those are potential tourists who will never ever visit B.C.

Your decision to allow open season on feral pigs is clearly hurting not only the pigs, but the economy, and it also encourages dangerous people with guns to gain more power.

I say SHAME ON YOU, Minister Steve Thomson! Please reconsider your decisions regarding the destruction of British Columbia's precious wildlife now, not tomorrow.  I would appreciate some kind of reply so that I can let the petition signers know when you will stop unneccessary hunting in B.C.

Thank you for your time.
