Support Endangered Species Act Protections for Rusty-Patched Bumblebee!

  • by: Chris Wolverton

The rusty-patched bumblebee, an important pollinator of crops such as blueberries and apples, might become the first bee on the endangered species list.

This bee population has been in serious decline over the past few decades. Though once common across the Midwest and Eastern Seaboard states, it has disappeared from 87 percent of its historic range, and its populations have decreased by 95 percent. The bee was once common in Canada, too, but has since disappeared from all but one site.

We need to protect our bees, which are crucial in pollinating crops we need to survive. Please sign the petition to urge the Fish and Wildlife Service to grant endangered species protections for the rusty-patched bumblebee!

We, the undersigned, are concerned about the declining populations of rusty-patched bumblebees.

As you know, this bee population has been in serious decline over the past few decades. Though once common across the Midwest and Eastern Seaboard states, it has disappeared from 87 percent of its historic range, and its populations have decreased by 95 percent. The bee was once common in Canada, too, but has since disappeared from all but one site.

We believe that we need to protect our bees, which are crucial in pollinating crops we need to survive. We respectfully urge you to grant endangered species protections for the rusty-patched bumblebee. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
