End Unsustainable Raiding in the Amazon Rainforest

Each year, the Amazon Rainforest loses forested areas the size of the state of Delaware. Agricultural expansion, ranching, infrastructure projects, energy exploration and illegal logging are to blame.

There is a clear link between the health of the Amazon and the health of the planet. The rain forests, which contain 90-140 billion metric tons of carbon, help stabilize local and global climate. Deforestation may release significant amounts of this carbon, which could have catastrophic consequences around the world.

World Wildlife Fund is fightig to protect the Amazon. To help sign this petition, or go to http://www.worldwildlife.org/ and symbolically adopt a jaguar, macaw, toucan, or pink river dolphin.

If we care about the health of the planet, and of our future we must take action on congress and reinforce protection of the Amazon Rainforest.
