Ask the British Government to listen to me on flood defences.

My name is Martin, Peter Broom BSc (Hons).

Last December I had the misfortune of seeing first hand, while on holiday the devastation of floods in the North of England. I set about there and then, thinking of a solution to the problem. I then designed a flood defence system, that I know will work, but I need your help also.

You see the images of the young upset that their Christmas was ruined by flood waters, made me feel sad, it was not that they had lost their presents, no it was because their houses were ruined. I tried in vain to get people to listen to me last year, this year I want another stab at resolving this age old problem we have. The topographical features of our land affords a different approach needed, the British Government has already shown this year, that they do not understand the situation properly, thus more devastation has already been seen.

Take for instance, the constant building up of flood walls, no, that is not the solution I offer, all I need is to be taken seriously about my idea, the consequences for these families in rural Britain needs a different approach. I may not be part of the established few, but I am an honest hearted man that wants to help. My idea also works with the forces of not against them.

I wish that everyone would understand the topography of our land, instead of looking to others for solutions, just for once in your life British Government, listen to others outside the established few, you owe it to your constituents to listen, instead of just thinking. My solution is for the long term future of our rural Towns and Cities, it will also generate jobs in these places also. It is not about me, it is about helping others.

The time for action for yourselves is now, please do not let the situation escalate with more woes for British families this Christmas.
