Mandatory labelling for products containing Palm oil AND MUST STATE palm oil

STOP British producers from HIDING palm oil in their products!!
The production of palm oil is having devastating effects on our planet! Rainforests are being destroyed for palm crops. This kills every living thing within it, such as Orangutans, Pygmy Elephants, Sumatran Rhino, Clouded Leopards and thousands more (some haven’t even been found and never will be!). Rainforests are the lungs of our earth and help reverse the effects of global warming by absorbing the carbon and releasing oxygen which is vital for our survival!
Companies are now being very sly; by labeling palm oil as vegetable oil we as consumers cannot avoid products containing it and unknowingly contribute to the damage that will eventually suffocate us all! If Palm oil is used in products they must state weather it is from a NON DESTUCTIVE SOURCE, IF COMPANIES FAIL TO PROVE THAT THERE PALMOIL IS FROM A NON DESTRUCTIVE SOURCE THEY MUST BE CONSIDERED TO BE CONTRIBUTING TO THE EXTINCTION OF THE ORANGUTAN AND OTHER SPECISE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY UNFRIENDLY. Current EU legislation must make clear whether the PALMOIL is from a NON DESTRUCTIVE SOURCE AND DISCLOSE THE ORIGINAL PLANTATION SOURCE!!
PLEASE sign this petition to make our government enforce that COMPANIES must CLEARLY AND PRECISELY label PALMOIL and DERIVATIVES of PALMOIL in their products ingredients!!
Giving us the consumers the power to choose!

To Mr Owen Paterson Department for Environment, Food and rural affairs, I speak on behalf of all the people who have signed this petition in the hope that you will come to the same understanding of the importance of this URGENT matter. We all have the right to know that we are not buying into deforestation and the cruelty that it brings, if given the choice I'm sure most consumers would like to make an informed decision about buying products containing PALMOIL, A lot of people are guilty of adding to the devastation, cruelty and environmental impact that PALMOIL has without even knowing. The other factor is that people who don't want to buy products containing PALMOIL have to put up with sly and sometimes misleading labelling. This is clearly wrong as we the consumer should have very PRECISE AND CLEAR LABELLING and not at all misleading or vague. I'm hoping that your compassion and commitment to Environmental, Food and Rural affairs will make YOU URGENTLY push for very PRECISE AND CLEAR LABELLING were PALMOIL is concerned and if PALMOIL is used in products of any kind companies MUST STATE it is from a NON DESTUCTIVE SOURCE. IF COMPANIES FAIL TO PROVE THAT THERE PALMOIL IS FROM A NON DESTRUCTIVE SOURCE THEY MUST BE CONSIDERED TO BE CONTRIBUTING TO THE EXTINCTION OF THE ORANGUTAN AND OTHER SPECISE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY UNFRIENDLY. for the sake of THE ENVIRONMENT, ANIMAL WELFARE AND DEFORESTATION "WE THE CONSUMER MUST have the RIGHT TO CHOOSE". The production of PALMOIL is having devastating effects on our planet! Rainforests are being destroyed for palm crops. PLEASE PUSH our government to ENFORCE that COMPANIES must CLEARLY LABEL PALMOIL in their products ingredients AND THE ORIGINAL PLANTATION SOURCE!! Giving us the consumers the power to choose! sincerely
