New Project Based Course using Technology at Poway High School

AP Computer Science Principles is a new project-focused course that will be offered by the College Board starting in the fall of 2016. It's goal is to use modern technology to analyze large sets of data, algorithms and such to study real-world issues. It is an innovative course that will focus on creative use of technology.

The course will be project focused requiring students to submit 2 projects for evaluation as part of their AP Exam. The students are allowed to personally select what they want their topic to be about. They will then be submitted to the College Board where, along with a multiple-choice test, they will receive a final score.

I am a sophomore at Poway High and I would love for this class to be available when I am a senior. In order for the administration to launch this class they need to know that at least 20 students will sign up for this class if it is offered. I made this petition to show our school's administration that students want to take this class. So, in closing, this new course is an amazing opportunity to actually draw real, helpful information out of our high school education and it needs support if it will be offered.
