Using God as an Excuse

The senior students at Mount Zion High school have taken it upon themselves to "keep tradition". The issue that has brought me to this is that someone is being harmed in the process. The situation is that Mount Zion has a tradition of having the seniors sing at a church as a ceremony. This is nice, yes. They take them out of class, an elective of course, they practice singing Christian songs, this isn't bad. It's not an obligation to go and sing, but a student whom does not believe in God, not bad either because everyone has a right to believe what they like, decided that she did not want to be taken out of class to sing for something she has no faith in. She took it to the board, which shows she didn't not have enough faith in her own administrators to call to their attention her issue. Due to these actions the seniors now have to do after school practice. They have relentlessly made her feel like cap for this. Why? Because some say she's a "devil worshiper", or that she's a "witch". These people are so ignorant. They even went as far as taking a bible out in class and reading it out next to her, causing to leave class. They literally used God to bully her. She's not a demon, what would the bible have done in that situation other than make you look like an idiot? She didn't come to school the other day. Why, because of not wanting to be glared at, not wanting to be bullied, not wanting to face her "peers". First of all, most of those students want to miss class, and they say they have a life after school, but if this is so important than why argue? You're still getting the opportunity to sing, just after school. Now they even say that if she doesn't go to the after school practices they were going to make it worse for her. She didn't even want to do it in the first place. She is now suffering and being treated as an "issue". She was just a student who spoke her mind. Are we not allowed to show our rights? These students need to sick it up and leave her alone. Doing religious practices and stuff DURING school hours is against the law anyways. They're just mad they got caught, because they knew if caught there would be consequences. The students "protested" by leaving class for an hour to the stadium to practice, but went back because it was "cold", shies how much they care huh. This is a small school, which means many of these people have not experienced a real world scenario where someone different counts. Everyone has to be taken in count. Many of the teachers have done nothing to help her because they "understand" how the students feel. So in other words they allow the targeting of their upset views. These students should just stop, sick it up, and practice after school instead of worrying about not having time to see their partners or doing illegal things. And if they have jobs, music ad lyrics are provided, get together and practice with a few friends after school, because God is supposed to bring people together, not tear someone apart.
