Countless RFC players, parents and alumni want to see Roberto Sciascia back as Head Coach of our Metro Program. He sincerely cares about his players and wants to see them succeed in all aspects of life. He encourages education and wants his players to become pillars of their community.
The Boys Richmond Metro Program is a successful program for our youth. Roberto has a great deal of knowledge and experience working with youth. He encourages good values, respect and work rate, not just on the field, but in other aspects of life. Numerous players have developed confidence, respect, integrity and perseverance due to Roberto's influence. He asks his players to be the best they can be at home, at school, and on the field. Roberto is passionate, honest and straightforward; he doesn't sugar-coat anything. He puts so much energy into guiding players to improve their skills, understand the game, respect their bodies, work as a team and be prepared for the real world.
Many U16 RFC metro players have said that Roberto “teaches us not only about the
game but also how to deal with challenges we may face.” “He always expected 100% and it went beyond soccer, and benefited the players who understood what he was doing and why he would make us do it. We became more mature, and more prepared for the real world,” says a former RFC metro player. Another U16 RFC metro player writes, "He teaches us to try as hard as we can and be passionate about anything we do. He sees a potential in us that we can’t, and encourages us until we reach it. We also appreciate that he treats us like adults, he
respects us and makes us responsible for taking care of ourselves mentally and physically. The tactics and techniques that he preaches work on and off the field, as it applies to our daily life as well.”
Clearly, reading the opinions of the athletes indicates that Roberto has made a significant positive impact on many players. Roberto Sciascia is a phenomenal coach, but his teaching goes beyond soccer; he teaches his players how to succeed in every aspect of their life.
