Splatoon Splatfests need to survive!

Splatoon was the first new IP from Nintendo since Pikmin and was alongside a few other titles considered the strongest title on the Wii U and the best online-game Nintendo created so far.

It introduced 2 new focuses to acomplish that, one being to take the online-multiplayer first and giving the siderole to the singleplayer and the other being to instead of postponing the game deliberately holding a updateshedule to deliver additional content and some select events.

Said updateplan comes to an end this weekend with one last of many so-called splatfests, events at which players join one of two teams and fight for said team over 1 to 2 days in a night- and carnivalesque setting. After this no major updates or events are planned anymore for this magnificent shooter and furthermore no more splatfests will come.

Here is the place where this petition comes in:
Splatfests are a matter of planing, sometimes an advertisement deal, sometimes random questions and kept the game fresh and without them the game would be missing something.
And there is an easy solution composed of two ideas the company had allready well integrated:

Give players the ability to organize their own splatfests with a good selection of topics, just for the fun of it!
Players could create lobbies with a preset date, maps and maybe even gamemode, much like in private battles, a smaller reward then normal splatfests and two motives that are going to be fought for from a list.
The way to manage said lobbies could be taken straight from Mario Kart 8 with their community-browser and -IDs and the ideas for teammotives could be either in a similar vein of the Wii Voting Channel was or Self-written with a blacklist for words.

This would keep splatfests alive and certainly seem rather easy to implement, to keep the playerbase active and the game as fresh as ever.
