Immediate Reinstatement of Robert de Niet

We the undersigned would like to make our feelings very clear about the recent termination of instructor Robert de Niet.

While we understand the situation surrounding the dismissal is unfortunate, and one to be taken seriously, we also know the Robert would not have behaved in such a manner with any malicious intent what-so-ever. We also know that having had this behavior brought to his attention there is no chance of him repeating it. Therefore we feel that a written warning would have been more than sufficient to bring this incident to an effective close for all concerned.

To have terminated Robert is such a fashion is, in our opinion, heavy handed in the extreme, and a decision that seriously undermines the quality of education available to students on the Fashion Journalism program.

We believe that Robert should be reinstated immediately. Not to do so will seriously undermine the quality of education expected on the FJ program, and we believe could also be viewed as a discriminatory and cynically political action.
