Thousands of animals mainly dogs are posted online with the title 'free to good home' or only a small asking price. Many of these pets are being purchased by gangs and used for bait in dog fighting, as it is so easy to get hold of a dog that is unwanted. If gumtree didn't allow users to post adds of animals this would make it a lot harder for the gangs to get hold of bait animals.
The owners of these animals clearly do not care about their fate of they are willing to give them away for free or for a very small asking price. These innocent animals just want to be loved and find a decent home, not given away over the Internet because they have got too old, or done something their owners didn't like.
Too many people are breeding puppies in puppy mills and gumtree is a quick and easy way to sell off all the puppies, other innocent dogs are being forced to breed continuously, causing the animals very severe health problems. One more way we can help put a stop to this is by stopping gumtree from allowing users to list animals. We must gain control now before any more innocent animals get sent to neglectful homes or abusive owners or put in dog fights to be used as bait.

Gumtree needs to stop accepting and advertising animals for sale and especially animals 'free to good home'. With out proper home checks anything can be done with these innocent animals that get neglected by there owners and Gumtree openly assists in this.
This can lead to unimaginable torture and pain for these animals, especially dogs. A large percentage of these 'free to good home' dogs will be obtained by gangs and used for bait in dog fighting. This means the animals are cornered by the fighting dogs and viciously ripped apart until they are left dying slowing from sever injuries. The fighting dogs are also innocent as the owners will torture then if they do not kill the animal in front of them. This is a barbaric practice in which GUMTREE is aiding. We must cut off the dog fighters supply of bait dogs as much as we can. FORCE Gumtree to stop the classified adverts that are aiding the extream torture and agony of the dogs that are advertised with low asking price or free to good home.
