Support CA Lawmakers' Push for Gun Violence Restraining Order

  • by: Kristi Arnold
  • recipient: California State Assemblyman Das Williams and State Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner

California lawmakers have introduced a bill that would allow a "gun violence restraining order" to temporarily bar a mentally unstable person from buying and possessing firearms after family, partners or friends call police.

The mass killing near Santa Barbara, California prompted the proposal. Tell California lawmakers that we stand with them and the bill should pass.

The proposed law would create a system where family members, friends and intimate partners could call police to intervene with troubled loved ones. Law enforcement would be able to investigate threats and ask a judge to issue an order prohibiting firearms purchases and possession.

This law actually has a good chance of passing in California, a state with some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation. Tell California lawmakers you support this bill and would like to see it pass.

Dear Sir and Madam,
