Justice for Murdered Family Cat

A Democratic politcian returned home with his four children to find their family pet slaughtered, with the word "liberal" painted on the cats body.
Jacob Burris, the campaign manager of Democratic congressional canditate Ken Arden, returned to his home in Russellville, Arkansas on Sunday January 22, with his four children to find the family pet, an adult, mixed-breed Siamese cat, had one side of its head bashed in to the point the cat' eyeball was barely hanging from its socket. The word "liberal" was painted across the cat's corpse and left it on the doorstep of Burris' house.
His four children discovered the gruesome scene as they exited the family vehicle to enter their home.

This act of brutality happened on the same evening Arizona Democrat Gabreille Giffords announced she was resigning from Congress after being shot in the head, to focus on her recovery. She and 17 others were shot; six have died, including a 9-year-old girl and a federal judge while holding constituent meeting.
Animal advocates have been asking for stricter penalties for animal abuse for years, recognizing an undenailable link that individuals capable of brutality with animals, are also capable committing the same types of crimes with human beings.
To murder an innocent animal and traumatize four children with a political message such as this is nothing short of terrorism, and we ask that this hate crime be treated as such, with the maximum penalty. Please do not take this incident lightly, and investigate fully.
