Justice for Australians Imprisoned in Indonesia - Stop the Imminent Executions!

Two Australians could be executed in Indonesia if we don't act now. Along with at least 10 other people, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran have been sentenced to death for their convictions on drug related charges.

In April 2005, both men were arrested attempting to smuggle heroin through the Bali airport. While they certainly deserve punishment for their crime, they have already served 10 years, and the death penalty is completely out of proportion with their offense.

The two have recently been transferred to a prison island where they are to be executed by firing squad. Despite repeated pleas, Indonesia's president has denied clemency to these Australians and the other foreigners to be executed.

But there's still time to save Andrew and Myuran! Officials have yet to provide the 72 hours of notice for their imminent execution as required by law and their lawyers are appealing the sentence.

Executions in Indonesia are extremely violent and inhumane — those sentenced to death are killed by a firing squad that stands 5-10 metres away. The death penalty holds no place in today's society, especially a sentence that is as gruesome and violent as this.

We can't give up hope. Call on the Australian government to increase their efforts urging Indonesia to release Andrew and Myuran immediately. With enough public pressure, we can save our fellow Australians!

Prosecutors in Indonesia have been ordered to prepare for the executions of the Bali nine, including Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran. While the required 72-hour notice has not been given, the executions are likely imminent. Please continue to share the petition -- we must not give up the fight for justice now! Time is running out, but the Australian government can still do more to save Andrew and Myuran.
