Hi, My name is Gabe and I am a 13 year old young man who is trying to do the little bit I can while being a teen to improve quality of life for our watershed, the future and our ecosystem. This is so important becasue all pollutants end up flowing to our oceas, potentially harming seals, whales and other mammals, animals, wildlife, etc... Please help me by signing to support this cause!

"It is estimated that around 12 million barrels of oil must be used to make around 30 million plastic bags that people in America use every year"

Statistics show that “We use over 2,000,000 plastic water bottles every 5 minutes in the United States alone” This is the best solution because we are trying to help the watershed pollution rate decrease by providing fewer opportunities for people to waste and dispose of plastic in wrong and irresponsible ways. In 2014, California became the first state to successfully implement a ban of plastic bags at grocery stores statewide. Over 100,000 marine animals end up dying every year because they suffocate after eating plastic bags. It is estimated that around 12 million barrels of oil must be used to make around 30 million plastic bags that people in America use every year when this oil could be used to help our future instead because we could run out of oil in the future.

Plastic is hurting the watershed by polluting the water. This pollutant is usually washed directly into the water and is worse when carried by runoff water leftover from when it rains or after snow melts. After this, these pollutants end up being carried down to small streams and rivers, the watershed and end up in our seas and oceans and affecting the ecosystem. We should care about all this damage being caused because plastic waste can cause health and environments risks for both humans and animals. We must limit the amount of plastic bags in the community and many other local governments have already began their effort to put these laws into place.
