Elephants in the entertainment industry live a life of hell! They are typically ripped away from their mothers at a young age and beaten into submission.Then they are beaten with boolhooks, and shocked as they are forced to do tricks, some of which are painful, and not naturally a position the elphants can usually move.They spend most of their time chained by 2 legs and in trucks or small confined spaces, sometimes in extreme heat and cold. They become broken and depressed, and suffer from painful arthritis, this is why you see them swaying back and forth. There have been numerous events where entertainment elephants escape their handlers, and out of fear have injured and killed people in crowds.
