Mayweather: Give Your Tigers to Sanctuaries!

Floyd Mayweather doesn't have a great track record for taking care of animals. And as recently as last week, Mayweather was spotted parading a helpless and uncomfortable tiger around a hotel room.

In the video, the tiger is seen curiously trying to explore, but Mayweather has the animal on a leash. At one point, the tiger appears interested in wandering around the room to take in new smells and decor, and the boxer yanks the tiger back to his proximity, visibly pulling hard on its neck. Of course, this is not the first time Mayweather has been seen mistreating big, exotic cats: at his 40th birthday party, the world-famous boxer allegedly had a caged albino tiger as elaborate decor.

Repeatedly, experts have confirmed that tigers are not appropriate as pets. They are aggressive in a way that even lifelong trainers can't control - they frequently attack and kill humans, often targeting the head and neck. In the wild, they have big open spaces to roam to kill prey, including bears and leopards. They are incompatible with small cages and restrictions on their behaviors. Tigers get antsy and violent when they are confined to closed spaces or treated poorly.

The right home for a tiger that has never been introduced to the wild is a tiger sanctuary. There are many around the world that would not only provide tender care, but a more open space, habitat that mimics a tiger's natural wildlife space, and room to hunt and play. Sign now to tell Floyd Mayweather that if he cares about his animals or their happiness, he should give his tiger to a tiger sanctuary!
