Bred for The Gun: Sign to Stop Canned Hunting!

Hi, my name is Robbie Gusmao and I am 11 years old! Please sign my petition to end canned hunting in South Africa!

Canned hunting is when lionesses are overbred, then the baby lion cubs are taken from their mothers. This happens very early in their lives, so the mother is bred again and again and again. They then trap the cubs in a cage to be petted by tourists. When the lions grow older, they are then trapped in another enclosure to be hunted by tourists for the head as a trophy.

Canned hunting gives a huge advantage to the hunter, because there is either bait put up so the lion is still when the hunter shoots it, or the lions are drugged. Sometimes the hunters will even hunt on a truck. All this to make a few people very rich!!

I started to learn about canned hunting because I was born in South Africa where canned hunting of the lions is happening, and I was one of the visitors being drawn into touching lion cubs without realizing where they were coming from and also where they were going. After researching about canned hunting, I found out it is a growing industry in South Africa.

If you just take 5 seconds of your time to sign, you could show how much you care for animals. We need to stop canned hunting.

Please sign my petition to ask the South African government to ban canned hunting. Thank you!

I am also concerned about Manny Emert's post about Puppy Mills. If you could, please go ahead and sign this petition too.
