The Federal Government has this beautiful Island changed now to a "National Park" so they can kill & destroy everything to do with Sable Island
This Islands grasslands, mud flats and sanady beaches also support the world's largest congregation of breeding grey seals and several at-risk species, including the vulnerable Ipswich Savannah sparrow.
For Nova Scotians about 290 kms away from this treasure its very near and dear to our hearts and it's part of Nova Scotia's heritage and should not be touched. Pretty sure most Nova Scotians will not pay $5000 to go.....why! All these centuries later? "GREED" that's why they need to stop this.
Mr. Peter Kent states by getting this far is an accomplishment, don't think so. Intereferring with Sable Island and the wildlife would do just the opposite, this coming from someone who should have our future and environment interests at heart. How can any island be considered a National park when they talk about seismic, geological or geophysical programs because there are loopholes in "National Park" eg., Yellowstone National Park are killing Wolves.
He is for the Oil Industry and I think he should be removed for someone more genuine for the future of all our chilren.
If Sable Island is under the Federal Law it should be protected as a National Marine Conservation Area which is protected from dumping, mining, energy exploration and overfishing or givin to Parks Canada.
