Misinformation Breeds Contempt

A petitioner is circulating accusations against the Canadian government, and Canadians, suggesting that the federal government supports the wolf cull in British Columbia. Subsequently U.S. Subscribers believe that Canadians support it and have been disparaging toward us as a result. My name was on the petition list very early on. I wasn't alone in Canada! This misinformation is the product of your lack of understanding for our culture and governance.
I don't support the cull, but let's be information correct. Wildlife management, like all natural resource management in Canada except energy, is the 'Constitutional' responsibility solely of the provinces. (British Columbia in this case)The Federal government has no jurisdiction regardless of how we might like it to be otherwise. In Canada we believe strongly in the sustainable conservation of our natural resources and environment. Thst's why we have so much more healthy, clean, protected landscape than most. We have parks larger than some U.S. States. Canada has for generations been the natural playground for many U. S. friends. We provided moose to states that had exterminated their population.(Wisconcin, Pennsylvania). We provided wolves to other states for the same reason. (Colorado)
My petition asks that petitioners get their information correct before they distribute it and result in disparaging conclusions about others who otherwise would support the petition, but not so if they become the brunt of the aggression. I petition that  petitioners know the topic before they spread dissent against other cultures. For the record, in B. C. the Wolf cull is not an acceptable means of population management to the vast majority of Canadians.
