End the Ban on Hemp: Support Senate Bill 3501

It’s time to end the ridiculous ban on hemp - the only plant that’s legal to import, process and use, but illegal to grow in the US.

But why is that? Plenty of reasons that all boil down to big money interests in other resources. Without GMO or pesticides, and with very little water, hemp grows like a weed.

And it's not about marijuana - by comparison hemp has negligible THC. It can’t get you high.

But what it can do is remarkable. For starters, it contains an ideal 1:3 balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids - what our brains crave. It’s used for fabric, paper, biofuel, food, oil, beverage, plastics and more. Farmers love it not only because it’s low-cost and sustainable, but it also enriches the soil.

Tell Congress to End the Ban on Hemp!

Dear Senators and Representatives of the American people;

If ever there was a time to promote a crop that leaves such a light carbon footprint and provides so many uses at little production cost and nearly no harm to humans, wildlife and the environment, it's now. Certainly there's no argument about this.

Please acquaint yourselves with the history of hemp growing in the US, including the fact that our Declaration of Independence was drafted on hemp paper, and end this ridiculous ban on growing hemp in the United States.

Hemp Revolution is a documentary film that explains how corporate interests led to the banning of this crop that could have saved the world acres of forests used for papermaking alone, not to mention replacing many uses of petroleum, as well as providing a pesticide-free fabric crop that is superior to cotton.

To continue to ban the growing of hemp would be to continue to harm our planet and deprive us of a very valuable and versatile, even life-saving resource.

We urge all our representatives to support Senate Bill 3501.
