Please sign and share this petition in an effort to protect the World Owl Trust in the UK that is currently the home of 200 rare and beautiful owls. The home of these owls on the grounds of the Muncaster Castle is in danger of closing its doors due to a notice received to vacate the premises by May of 2015. We need to encourage support of the World Owl Trust to guarantee a home for the owls.

The World Owl Trust has been a leading tourist attraction in the UK for more than 26 years, with anywhere from 60,000 to 80,000 visitors entering their doors annually. This is the home of 200 rare and beautiful owls of about 50 different species. The World Owl Trust is housed in the gardens of the Muncaster Estate. When visitors enter the estate, a percentage of their admission charges go to the Owl Trust to care for the birds. If enough funds are approved for the home of the owls, the President and founder, Tony Warburton would have the difficult task of finding a home for more than the 200 birds.

Mr. Warburton expresses great need for help in keeping the World Owl Trust open or finding a suitable home so that they can continue their work while providing a fantastic visitor attraction in the UK. He states that the Trust is willing to move the World Owl Centre anywhere in the UK, ideally to a Country Park or large Estate with a sympathetic landowner. If one can be found the Centre is certain to provide a major visitor attraction and allow the Trust to continue its all important educational and conservation activities.

We need to support this mission and guarantee a home for these 200 owls in the UK.  Peter Frost-Pennington, Muncaster Visitor Management Director in UK – Please do not put the World Owl Trust in doubt and expect them to leave their home. Don’t make Mr. Warburton give up his work in caring for these 200 gorgeous birds and leave them homeless. The World Owl Trust is an important part of visitor’s travels. Help to keep the Trust open; generate the funds necessary to make the tourists, birds and founder Warburton happy by finding a way to grant a safe home and sanctuary for all of these birds on a long-term basis.
