Unjust Termination of Melvin Stanback

  • by: Melvin Stanback
  • recipient: Owners and Tenants of Franklin Park West Condominiums

There was a situation that required quick action for the well being of a tenants guest.  One of the tenants fathers was visiting, this tenants went to work the day that the father needed to leave to go back home.  He needed to make his flight, so time was of the essence.  During the course of his departure, he inadvertently locked his suitcase inside of her apartment.  The father came to seek help from Melvin, the two of them made phone calls to the daughter, and to Bray Property Management to try to gain access.  When neither of these were able to meet the deadline needed, Melvin assisted the father with entry.  Melvin had seen, and met, the father before this incident while the father was with the tenant so he knew that this situation was valid.  Melvin has never even so much as received a write up, no verbal warning and has done nothing but give his best to each and every individual at this complex.  Faced with the decision, knowing the circumstances, he did what was needed.  The tenant, once the contact was able to be made, validated that what he did was a good thing.  Her father would have missed his flight causing hardship unnecessarily.  The president of the board wrote a letter outlining that what Melvin did was assist in breaking and entering.  This is a far stretch of the truth of the situation.  This is "looking for an excuse" instead of seeing the truth.

Melvin has been an exemplary manager, has treated every situation in a respectful and professional manner.  If you don't have a heart, and can not see a situation for what it is, this complex is more of a prison than a home.
