Demand The City Council Vote No On Ordinance 2016-090, Which Blocks Local Patient Access to Medicine!

Findlay City Ordinance 2016-90 BANS The Distribution, Sale, Cultivation, and processing of Medical Marijuana, a medicine The State of Ohio has declared to be legal. The current administration seems to have decided that this medicine should not be made available for legal purchase by The Citizens of Findlay Ohio in their own city. The Administration also believes The City of Findlay should not benefit from the creation of new manufacturing and retail jobs The State of Ohio built into House Bill 523 by excluding the raw plant. The Citizens of Findlay Ohio respectfully disagree. We ask that The City Council adhere to the will of The People and vote NO on Ordinance 2016-90. We believe that The City of Findlay can do better. We understand that regulations have yet to be established for House Bill 523. We are willing to consider short-term moratoriums as long as they are given fair and standard public readings. It is unfair to rush us into a decision that has a 2-year deadline. We are requesting all new Ordinances pertaining to Medical Marijuana be given the standard 3 readings. The Citizens of Findlay deserve fair time to consider New Ordinances pertaining to access to medicine. We would also ask that The Findlay City Council block attempts to change Zoning Ordinances that would circumvent the Will of The Citizens of Findlay.

Dear People of The Findlay City Council,

Before  you is a petition signed by those directly affected by proposed ordinance 2016–90. We have all  joined together in hopes that the voice of those of us affected will be heard by our city Council. We are of one voice when we say "No!"  To this ordinance. We are dealing with an ordinance that affects the ability of patients to obtain medicine the state has deemed legal.  We understand the state has not yet set up regulations and guidelines for the distribution of medical marijuana. We also understand, that the state will not be issuing the license to dispense for at least one year.  Meaning, this ordinance has no use or place in our town. The desire for a moratorium is understandable; however, we would ask that you vote this particular ordinance down. We do not like the way it was presented to us and A message needs to be sent to those who attempted to spring this on us: When it comes to patients rights to access medicine we will not play last minute political games .
