Demand an end to animal cruelty

Hello I'm a 15 year old girl wanting to try and help animals as much as I can soI'm going to talk about vegetarianism and why I think it's important not only for myself but for our planet.
The British people claim to be a nation of animal lovers yet the average British carnivore consumes 11,000 animals in their lifetime.
Animals we not put on the planet for us to eat they are unable to speak for themselves so it's up to us to speak for them and help protect them. They have as much right to be on the planet as we do.
I'm fact going vegitarian would help to elevate world hunger or would actually take 40 million tons of food to eliminate the most extreme cases of world hunger, yet nearly 20 times that amount of grain is grown to feed animals every year in order to produce meat, how ridiculous is that?
Not only are we destroying and poisoning our planet by eating meant we are also poisoning ourselves. Too much meat can cause heart disease, obesity and strokes the for reducing lifespan, and we wonder why the NHS is under so much stress.
Raising an animal for slaughter requires considerably more water, grain and land than growing fruit veg and cereal for human consumption. If we just look at the example of water we can see this very clearly. It takes 15,000litres of water to produce just 1 kilo of beef. This is 5 times more water needed to grow Fruit and veg.
This clearly shows how much more wasteful it is to produce meat rather than fruit veg and cereal. Another negative side of the meat industry is the massive amount of waste that is produced by lifestock. Waste products can even contaminate our drinking water! We are literally destroying our planet and ourselves through meat consumption. Isn't it about time we make the change? So we can have a healthier planet and a healthier life ?
