Caring for animals- Bylaw Change

Currently within the Cape Breton Regional Municipality the bylaws do not permit the operation of a Doggy Daycare. According to administration within the Municipality the bylaws do not permit this due to the fact that citizens do not want the noise near their homes. How would the citizens and the Municipality know how much noise there would be with such a business in operation if there is no such place currently open? If there was a well developed program with consistent monitoring it is possible to have such a business in operation with a minimal noise level, comparable to that of your local corner store traffic.

Other major cities have facilities within the city limits. A facility in Sydney would follow the same laws and regulations which would allow a successful business to operate with minimal disruptions to its surroundings.

The bylaws need to change. We need to ensure that all members of our families receive care, and this most certainly includes our fur babies!
