On Monday, The Chainsmokers shared a now-deleted video of their recent trip to China.
While being interviewed by an Asian journalist, the Chainsmokers member Alex Pall makes a joke about Chinese people eating dogs."During tours, do you bring your dog with you?" the interviewer asks.

Care2 members have been doing work for years to end the Yulin dog meat festival, but just because this festival occurs in China, it doesn't mean everyone in the entire country eats dogs! Insinuating such reinforces cruel stereotypes.
A spokesperson for the Chainsmokers has released a statement, but it doesn't quite contain an apology: "T
he interview was posted as it was meant to highlight how much the Chainsmokers love China and all of their fans there," the spokesperson said.
