Ask big chain supermarkets to find an alternative to plastic wrap and bags for fruit and veg.

After years of automatically using the plastic bags provided at large supermarket stores to shop for my vegetables and fruit, combined with years of reading information on how damaging plastic is to animals and the environment, I stopped to ask myself if I actually needed them.
I have now switched to bringing a container with me to shop for these things instead, much to the disdain of checkout staff everywhere.
Packaging-free supermarkets are now being pioneered in mainland Europe, and many nations around the world have opted to ban or tax the use of plastic bags, and I believe that the UK should follow this example to drastically cut our plastic consumption.

Hello everyone! Wow over 1300 signatures so far in just over one week! so pleased, thank you.

From what I can gather:
Any e-petition signed by more than 10,000 people will have a government response published alongside it.
The 100,000-signature threshold making an e-petition eligible for a Commons debate will remain in place.

Lets keep up spreading the word! Well done!
Thank you
