Put a Hault On Cigarettes!

Smoking has been around for decades. It was endorsed by doctors in the 1960s as a weight loss product and it was described as healthy. However, we all know this is not the case! It is 2016, a time where medical technology is at its peak. Smoking already has a strong link to cancers of the lungs, esophagus, larynx, mouth, throat, kidney, bladder, liver, pancreas, stomach, cervix, colon, and rectum, as well as acute myeloid leukemia. As well as other health conditions that are less prominent than cancer.

Not only does direct smoking cause cancer, teeth staining, and brain damage, but there are deadly and highly toxic chemicals found within these death rolls.
Cigarette smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, including 43 known cancer-causing (carcinogenic) compounds and 400 other toxins. These cigarette ingredients include nicotine, tar, and carbon monoxide, as well as formaldehyde, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, and DDT.
The effects of secondhand smoke is immense, as well. Why should we have to put up with coughing and holding our noses in public when others decide to smoke away their life while harming the rest of us. Secondhand smoke is just as deadly, and we are paying the price.

Directly from the CDC:
*In children, secondhand smoke causes the following:1,2,3

Ear infections
More frequent and severe asthma attacks
Respiratory symptoms (for example, coughing, sneezing, and shortness of breath)
Respiratory infections (bronchitis and pneumonia)
A greater risk for sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)

The list goes on. Why should we put up with something so deadly, toxic, and dangerous that takes precious years off of lives? We need to STOP this in its tracks. Smoking has gone on long enough and it is time to stop it. We should not have to pay for other peoples reckless and harmful actions. Please, save yourselves and the rest of the world from this death sentence.

Thank you.
