The AUC Shuttle provides safety and convenience for all students at these colleges and universities seven days a week at various hours. Many students rely on the shuttle and are grateful for the service is provides, especially if they don't have a car. I, Samantha V. Richards am petitioning to add a stop on Northside Drive between Atlanta Student Movement Blvd. and Westview Dr. S.W. This will increase safety for the students that live in The Villages of Castleberry Hill & Mechanicsville especially during midterms and Finals weeks. Many students walk, ride bikes, skateboard, etc. to these properties to get home. The library during midterms and finals weeks is open 24 hrs making it very accessible to the student body while also encouraging the beneficial idea of staying there past normal hours. With this accessibility in mind there is a higher risk for students to be hurt, threatened or frightened while traveling alone or even with a friend to these properties. All that means is that safety measures should be heightened and adding this stop is one efficient way to do so.
