These poor chickens are transported on these big eighteen wheeler trucks, cages on top of cages. Completely open in all seasons. all there bodily fluids land on each other , they are crammed in there cages, can't move, get rained on , wind from speeding truck blows them around , they have to endure the fear of seeing everything, snow, the cold , the heat. My dear mother ,God bless her soul, and I would rescue chickens off the road and give them to a lady on a farm. They must have improved their cages because you don't find them on the road that often. If I get stuck driving behind one of these trucks , I have to pull over, and let them get far ahead because I can not take looking at them suffer the way they do . It is horrific to see. Why are they allowed to transport them this way. It is bad enough they are stuck in these chicken houses all their lives but to travel for miles and miles like this also, not to mention how they treat them in the factory...they have feelings of pain also. They need to improve these transportation methods now, not later! I do not buy any chicken from the factories that transport them like this...no one else shoud either. There are more humane companies that pay a little extra to keep these chickens comfortable. They all should !
If you can help in any way, to help these poor chickens at least have a comfortable ride to their destination of death, it will be appreciated. We will not have to see them suffer anymore. A lot of people will say " They are just chickens" I would have to say back to them "well, you are just human" All living things great and small should not have to suffer in any way , especially when their destination is death...
