In the fifth book of Diana Gabaldon's acclaimed Outlander series, beloved Highlander Jamie Fraser performs the Scottish Sword Dance. While this dance is performed for competition and entertainment around the world, Scottish and Highland dance remain less-known in the broader dance world, and especially among the average person. In this petition, we respectfully request Sony Pictures feature this pivotal moment from the books in Season 5 of the Outlander television series. For both casual and die-hard fans of the books and show, the Scottish Sword Dance offers very quick (about two minutes) but very engaging entertainment, plus added depth and complexity to the storyline and the echoes of Scottish culture in the colonies. And last, but certainly not least, I think we can all agree that watching Sam Heughan perform the Scottish Sword Dance in his kilt would be visual and performative prowess at its finest! He's a gifted performer and actor, and showing him perform a traditional Scottish battle dance would be a treat for all audiences.
