Chris Christie: Stop Discouraging Environmental Progress by Targeting Tesla!

Governor Chris Christie must stop discouraging environmental progress by passing laws that only affect Tesla. Tesla is working toward a fossil-fuel free model and is a great step in the right direction. Christie's move is not only hypocritical (he believes in free market) but also is an obvious jab against the environment.

On March 6, at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, Christie had this to say: “We need to talk about the fact that we are for a free-market society that allows your effort and ingenuity to determine your success, not the cold, hard hand of the government,” as reported by Bloomberg.

By backing the state Motor Vehicle Commission, Christie has put an end to Tesla’s direct sales of vehicles in New Jersey and shown himself to be a giant hypocrite.

The state’s new rules protect its auto dealers from having to compete with Tesla’s direct sales model. All cars must be sold with the “help” of a middleman. Similar laws in Texas and Virginia have made Tesla’s business difficult in those states. Ohio and New York are considering similar laws.

Tell Christie if he doesn't reconsider discouraging Tesla, the idea that he's a new kind of politician and believes in free enterprise will be dead.

Dear Sir,

We the undersigned believe you should rethink your stand against Tesla.

You must stop discouraging environmental progress by passing laws that only affect Tesla. Tesla is working toward a fossil-fuel free model and is a great step in the right direction. Your move is not only hypocritical since you believe in free market but also is an obvious jab against the environment.
