The Oasis Needs more Bed-spaces
The Oasis provides an extensive menu of supportive services for women. In 2004 Oasis opened the first residential recovery center for women and has in a significant way continued to strengthen Guam's continuum of care. Due to restricted number of bed-spaces in our rented facility, Oasis has only been able to serve small number of women at one time.
Please add your name to our petition to highlight the overwhelming community support to establish a more permanent supportive service in Guam. Because of a woman's family needs, Guam needs a more extensive center to serve women as well as women with children.
We the undersigned, request that funding will be allocated to develop an extensive recovery center for women on Guam. The Oasis Empowerment Center is leading this initiative and is seeking to purchase the DAYS INN in Maite meet this important priority.
The needs of Guam's women are significantly overlooked, and underserved. Yet women provide a vital role to the health and well-being of our growing community. Due to abuse, many women have lost hope or have used survival skills that incorporate destructive forms of self-medicating. Oasis Empowerment Center is working to promote healing and recovery for women and their families.
Currently, Oasis is applying for Community Development Funds to secure a site that will be used to serve women and provide a comprehensive array of supportive services. Residential supportive living, counseling, practical life-skills, as well as vocational assistance all are all necessary to build an effective continuum of care to effectively this growing population on Guam.
Please help Oasis Empowerment Center to achieve its goal and establish a place for women to receive the assistance that will promote wholeness and empower them to become all they were created to be.
