Animal Rights and Perpetrators

Animal Rights law also known as Animal Liberations, are laws that are suppose to protect animals. This law states that animals are to be given the same considerations as humans receive. If ever a crime were committed, the committer would have to do time just like if a person committed harm to another human being. Although this is true, I believe that the laws are not punishing these people enough.

Everyday millions of animals are roaming the streets with no place to go. In addition, almost half of those animals are victims of animal abuse. The people who are committing these cruel acts are continuing to do so and get away with it because they are not being punished enough. We worry more about making someone pay there parking violations then making those pay for their crime against animals.

Listed below are the recent acts of animal cruelty and their punishment.

James Davis on September 26, 2009 duct-taped a cat now known as Sticky leaving her unable to move and dehydrated. He will only serve 2 years of imprisonment if convicted and a fine of at least 1000 dollars.
Rishawn Levintino Morrison on October 9, 2009 held down a kitten that was only 6 weeks old known as Cuddles, while throwing rocks at her then decided to light Cuddles on fire leaving Cuddles with 2nd degree burns. Cuddles died that Sunday. If convicted he will be in prison for 2 years and a 5000 dollar fine.
On October 25, 2009, two dogs named Leona and Emma were shot execution style for no reason. The people who did this sad act have not been found.

Please sign this petition today and help give the voiceless closure and a voice.

We the undersigned appreciate the fact that animals do have rights and that people are being taken as an example of where their fate will lie once they commit any act of neglect or abuse toward an animal.

However, we are writing to urge you that not enough is being done to the perpetrators who commit these vicious acts of abuse. We are writing in attempt to send out a message to those who hurt animals, that their deed will not be taken lightly and they will face the consequences as well as to possibly make the laws more strict.

Animal Abuse should be treated as any other act of cruelty and not singled out just because they are animals. Wounds do heal, but the pain inside last forever no matter if your a dog or a human.
