A heartfelt thank you to everyone in Alabama, the United States and in countless countries over the globe for caring about Little No Name, and all the "no names" who suffer and die in our nation's animal pounds. Unfortunately, there will be no justice for Little No Name, or the past unnamed impounded homeless and abandoned animals who were subjected to the ultimate betrayal of "Mans Best Friend" in this facility. There was no outcry from citizens, officials or SPCA, Humane organizations - who could have made a difference. Any findings from the "investigation", (Chief Batistte's "looking into it"), have not been disclosed. The evidence, the decaying body of Little No Name was disposed of and thrown away like trash. Worse...the eye witnesses to Little No Name's rotting body, who appeared on camera, vanished and obviously did not want to come forward to press charges. Little No Name's struggle to exist as an unwanted, homeless dog ended in certain pain and elongated death, which was ignored long enough for his weary body to decay where he fell. Clearly, no one cared enough to care for him in life, or death - or to make sure the person/s who committed this animal cruelty and neglect paid for their crime. Alabama has no state mandated standards for animal control pounds. Is this why so many instances of animal cruelty occur within pounds? Only legislation will provide this protection for helpless animals behind the closed doors of Alabama's animal pounds. Sad that it takes a law to force shelter workers to practice compassion.
